Terms of Use

1. The platform

UniMarket is a connection platform that allows sellers to list products and services and allows buyers to enquire about them. We are not a party to any transaction between a buyer and a seller.

The platform operates independently as a community marketplace.

2. Accounts

You must provide accurate information when registering and keep your login details secure. You are responsible for all activity under your account.

Accounts may be suspended if they are used for fraud, harassment, prohibited items or repeated policy breaches.

3. Seller obligations

Sellers must describe products accurately, list truthful prices in Zambian Kwacha, keep availability up to date and respond to enquiries in good faith.

Sellers must own or be authorised to sell everything they list. Prohibited items include illegal goods, weapons, drugs, counterfeit products, stolen items and anything unsafe.

Sellers agree to report completed sales through the platform so that platform commission can be recorded.

4. Buyer responsibilities

Buyers should verify products, prices, condition and seller identity before paying anything. Meet in safe, public places on or near campus.

Payments are arranged directly with the seller. The platform never holds or transfers funds.

5. Commission

A platform commission (5% by default) is calculated on reported sales and is payable by the seller to the platform. The applicable rate is shown in the seller dashboard.

Commission is a record-keeping obligation between the seller and the platform and does not create any obligation for the buyer.

6. Content and moderation

Listings may be reviewed, edited, unpublished or removed if they breach these terms. Users may report listings for review.

You keep ownership of the content you upload but grant the platform a licence to display it within the marketplace.

7. Liability

The platform is provided on an 'as is' basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for losses arising from transactions, listings, user conduct or platform downtime.

8. Changes

These terms may be updated from time to time. Continued use of the marketplace means you accept the updated terms.
